It didn't surprise House when Foreman tried to turn this around and blame him, as if he'd made Foreman spitefully schedule dinner with an asshole that Foreman knew that House hated. As if he'd made Foreman hang back and never approach him, either. Foreman knew he always messed around at work, and he knew that wouldn't change; he wasn't sure why Foreman was even counting that. House didn't step back, stayed close, and narrowed his eyes. "Since when did any treatment ever stop you from doing what you needed to do?" House asked. "It was your choice to hang back."

Foreman's last words, however, sparked a realization, and House stopped talking, drawing up and looking away from Foreman for a second. When he glanced back, he breathed a laugh. Now who was being insecure? "This isn't even about tonight, is it? This isn't even about the whole week. This is about the car. This is about Jake."
